I'm a journalist and sub-editor based in and around London. I love music, books, and theatre shows, and I enjoy going to concerts. I'm also a big fan of dogs.
Professionally, I'm a dedicated and creative person. I hold a Gold-Standard NCTJ diploma and a BA (Hons) and MA in journalism. I have experience in both print and digital media.
Currently, I sub-edit full-time for the Daily and Sunday Express newspapers. I work on news, editing for accuracy, brevity, and clarity, ensuring content fits the space and reads as well as it can. I also write headlines, subheads, and captions.
I also freelance as a sub-editor for the Daily Mail's Snapchat page, which has over 15 million subscribers. This involves taking copy from the MailOnline website and rewriting, editing, and making it more accessible for our audience. Headline and caption writing are also skills I use in this role.
Previously, I also oversaw the running of the Snapchat team's work. This involved writing 60 headlines and subheads for the daily edition, which the design team put on 'top snaps' to give our audience an understanding of what the story was about before they swiped up to read it. I led a team of sub-editors through to publication and worked closely with the design team to ensure we published on time.
As a skilled journalist, I can write news, feature, and comment articles, edit copy, video and audio for TV and radio, film for TV, and design and put together pages. I have experience in leading a team, having served as deputy editor of the Kingston Courier during my MA. I am confident using a variety of multimedia skills and have a good understanding of most social media platforms.
